About Me

My photo
My tremendously supportive husband & I have 3 wonderful children, 1 dog, 12 laying hens, 2 dairy goats, 3 bee hives, and a 2000 sq foot vegetable garden on a small 1/4 acre lot in the city. In the center of it all is our small 1,000 sq foot house purchased in 2008 as a foreclosure that we fully renovated to host our growing family, home school adventures, and small home business (CozyLeaf.com). We have a desire to learn a path to self sufficiency finding ways to be good stewards of the resources God has given us. We want to learn to live with less as we laydown roots to our little homestead.

Homemade Bread Olive Garlic Loaf

I absolutely love homemade bread...and so does my family! Since I finally got an oven that works Ive been baking like crazy and today I decided to stray from the plain loaf of bread and add some garlic and olives. I am so excitted, it turned out great! I made some homemade hummus the other day and this bread is GREAT with the hummus!
(With these loaves I love to cut 3 slits in the top of the loaf before I give it time to raise and sprinkle a little flour ontop...it raises and gives it a great appearance!)

While I was at it I made some regular bread as well. The kids love homemade rolls with a little honey...super easy and healthy snack for them :) ...and for my dad, who will inevitably be here in about 30 minutes!
